Worship is central to our life as a community. We gather every week at 10 am. We follow a traditional liturgy focused on the proclamation of God’s Word through Scripture readings and a sermon, and the response to the Word through prayers, reflection, and music: old and new.
What can you expect?
Join us just before 10; our worship begins right on the hour (at least, that’s the plan). Look for the big red welcome flag–we’re excited to welcome you! You can park near the flag in the gravel lot off of Simmons St., or you can park behind the church in the paved lot off Elizabeth Ave. Wherever you park, greeters will welcome you in and point you in the right direction.
As you come in, you’ll find people of various backgrounds and with different levels of formality. Some will have on suits and ties, while others are in shorts and T-shirts–come in whatever you’re most comfortable in. The ushers will provide you with a worship bulletin that includes church announcements and an order of worship, while guiding you toward a seat.
Worship begins after the video countdown with one of our children chiming the hour. A volunteer worship leader will share upcoming ways to be involved in the life of the church, followed by music that helps you quiet yourself and prepare to hear from God. We’ll continue praising and listening to God through call and response, Scripture readings, songs, and prayers. Services normally last about an hour.
For young children, a nursery is available in Room 136. If you’d like to utilize the nursery, just bring your children there when you arrive. Just before the sermon, older children are invited to come forward for a short children’s sermon. They are then invited to Worship and Wonder, a worship opportunity designed especially for children then helps them learn the stories of Scripture and the rhythms of the church in room 118. You can also choose for children to remain in the sanctuary for worship.
As you navigate our facility, in addition to ushers and greeters available to answer your questions, you’ll see that the building has clear signage, pointing to places like the sanctuary, nursery, and, of course, restrooms.
Worship In-Person or Online!
We’d love to have you worship with us in person, but if you can’t be with us in person, worship with us online. You can find us on YouTube. Our most recent services are here:
